As a fandom loving family Joe and I are so excited for the new Star Wars movie to come out. Our relationship has been built on our love for all things Star Wars and of course we own all the movies and games. We are counting down the days to the release of The Last Jedi so that we can get a babysitter and go to the midnight release..well the first showing because theaters where we live don’t really show movies at midnight anymore. I have no clue why they stopped but we miss waiting in line at 11 P.M. with caffeine pumping through our veins so we could be one of the first to see the movie. Yes, there are still early showings but nothing beats the rush of midnight releases. That being said Joe and I are always looking forward to any sneak peaks we can find. Disney and Lucasfilm have just announced a fun interactive way to learn about some secrets from Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
For those in fandoms 2016 was rough. We lost so many great actors and musicians. I feel that it is only right to officially start off my Fandom Friday series with a post dedicated to those wonderful Wizards, Rebels, Droids, and Musicians that we all came to love and adore so much.
To start off the list we have Alan Rickman. The English actor was born February 21 , 1946 and died January 14, 2016. Of 2016 his death was the hardest for me.
January ushers in a lot of NEW things. It brings with it a new year, new goals, and in my case a new blog series called, Fandom Friday! Fandom Friday will be a small break from my typical motherhood posts and it will happen every second and fourth Friday of each month! We will talk about anything and everything fandom related.
You might be wondering, what is this Fandom thing I speak of? A fandom is the community of people that surrounds and supports a book, tv show, game, team, or movie. So if being a Potterhead is something you claim to be you are actively a part of the Harry Potter fandom. As the franchises grow the fandoms grow, and vice versa.
