At the beginning of 2017 I posted my yearly goals. One of which was to hit 1,000 followers on Instagram. I thought it would take me the whole year to get to that goal but I was wrong. Hard work pays of off. This post is long overdue, but I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has followed me and helped this goal become a reality before we hit the half way mark of this year. Instagram is one of my favorite social media sites because it is an easy way to stay connected with friends and other bloggers. I love seeing the photos of everyone and the new things they are trying, and it means so much that over 1,000 people keep up with me!
MY TIPS FOR OTHER BLOGGERS!
As much as I love Instagram I definitely have a love-hate relationship with it. My biggest tip for growing your Instagram following in a world where the algorithm changes almost daily is:
Create the kind of content that you, yourself would want to see!
If you create great content you will gain genuine followers who actually want to see what you post and they will engage. You don’t need a fancy camera to create great content. One of my favorite people to follow on Instagram uses her iPhone for all of her pics and her feed is one of the best ones that I have seen.
Another tip that I have found to help with growing your Instagramub following is engage. Engage. ENGAGE. I can’t tell you how important it is to genuinely engage with people on Instagram. I don’t use like or comment services for many reasons even though taking time to engage can be very time consuming, but when you use those bots you are never sure what you will be liking or commenting on. I would much rather receive a genuine comment that has to do with my post than an automated generic comment, and to be completely honest nine times out of ten I will delete comments that look like they came from bots because they aren’t true engagement.
My last tip is surround yourself with people who will encourage you and be brutally honest with you. I have surrounded myself with an amazing group of ladies who I look up to in the blogging and Instagram scene. Their feeds are beautiful and they are amazing people. I have built a relationship with these women through fun blogging groups and have learned so much from them! If you surround yourself with people who are encouraging and support you then you will succeed!
