When your child turns one it is an unspoken rule that they have to get messy with a smash cake. Although Joshua got messy with his cupcake at his birthday party we decided that because we all made it through the year alive he deserved his own personal cake to destroy on camera. I just want to say a huge Thank You to Hope Alvarez Photography for doing these pictures.
As Hope and I were preparing Joshua for this shoot we first had him dressed in his very cute and very stylish first birthday outfit from Cuddle Sleep Dream, but we were quick to change our minds and decided to leave him in his very manly and very punk skull diaper from Honest Diapers. I did not want to fight with the stains to get his onesie back to mint condition, because lets face it Smash Cake sessions are very very VERY messy… I think I still have frosting on my kitchen cabinets.
As the title says this blog post will have the before photos of Joshua playing with the decorations in his birthday outfit as well as the destruction of the cake and the clean up!
