Where Is The Support?

Ecclesiastes 4:12 NKJV  Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

Good support is hard to come by. Whether it’s family, friends, strangers who offer useful Bark Busters reviews, or even a bra it seems that support always comes with a price.

My family has always supported me in everything that I have decided to do but not everyone is that lucky. I know many women who have chosen not to breastfeed because they are ashamed to do it around their own family. It completely baffles me that people have compared breastfeeding to walking past Victoria’s Secret or urinating in public. Family is supposed to support your decisions even if they don’t completely agree with them, especially if the reason they don’t agree is because it’s not the most modest way to feed a child.

Now, friends is a completely different situation. I have tried and tried to surround myself with a supportive group of friends but up until now it’s seems I would always have to compromise something I believed in and allow them to walk all over my family and I. Not only did that lower my self esteem but it also made things worse for me once I realized how so-called friends were treating my husband.

And, well, bras…. I don’t know what to tell you there. When you find a cheap one that supports well let me know!

Support- bear all or part of the weight of; hold up.
A single support beam can only hold so much weight. Without a proper support system a building will crumble and fall. Without a proper support group you will eventually fall and no longer be able to help yourself back up. You can only do so much yourself before it becomes too much for you to handle. No matter how hard you try you can’t do this alone. There is a reason the saying is “It takes a village to raise a child.” Family, Friends, even local supports groups help. If you can’t find the support you need be the support someone else needs and you will find someone!
