To the Fatherless on this Day for Fathers

Every child deserves to have both a father and a mother. There are things that one can do that the other simply cannot. Sadly, we live in a world that more and more children are living in homes without one or the other. I was raised in a single parent home. My mom did a wonderful job raising my brother and I. She did the best she could to be both rolls but there were times when we just needed our dad. It’s not easy to be fatherless on this day dedicated to fathers, I know that first hand.

  • You aren’t alone.
More than 20 million children live in a home where a father figure is physically absent and millions more live in a home with a father who is emotionally absent. On this day it is so easy to feel sorry for yourself and become depressed but know you are not alone in this. Millions of people are dealing with the very emotions you are dealing with right now.
  • You are not to blame for anything.
Whether your father is dead, emotionally absent, physically absent, or with another woman you are not to blame! I lived so long thinking something was wrong with me and that is why my dad did what he did to our family but that is not the case. You are a son, you are a daughter and you should never have that kind of weight placed on your life. We live in a world engulfed in sin and a world dictated by a common enemy who is looking to steal, kill, and destroy and what better thing to attack then families and children?
  • You have a father you just have to acknowledge Him.
God is our heavenly father. He may not be here on earth to teach the fatherless sons to be men or to walk the fatherless daughters down the aisle on her wedding day but He has always been there. Every heart break, every harsh word spoken, every hurt and pain, He has felt and heard them all with you. At night when you find yourself crying alone because you just want to feel loved by you father, He is there wanting to love you. People will fail you but I can promise that God will never fail you. God created you with a purpose in mind and Satan will do anything he can to steal that away from you.

So on this day please do your best to remember these things. You are not alone, you are not to blame, and you may not realize it but you have a father who will never fail you!

As Always Keep Smiling,

Jenny
