James 1:17 NKJV Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
As Christians do we truly want everything God has for us? I mean scripture tells us everything He has for us is GOOD and PERFECT, so that being said we should want it, right? Sadly, wanting something isn’t enough to get it. I can stand in Walmart all I want staring at a PS3 but until I actively pursue it and do what it takes to get it, I will never receive it. It the same with us spiritually. If we wanting some but don’t live as though we are going to receive it nothing will happen.
Matthew 21:22 NKJV And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.
In the verse above there is one key to receiving. The key to receive is to believe. The word believe in the above scripture is equivalent to having faith, so the reason you won’t receive is not because of doubt but because of unbelief. That may be hard for some people to comprehend so let me break it down for you. Every person has doubt or will have doubt at certain times in their life. Doubt is a thought, it starts in the mind. Now you can either do one of two things with this doubt.
- You cant take it captive, because as I said doubt is a thought (2 Corinthians 10:5)
- You can let that doubt take over you mind and pervert your mindset. In the end turning into unbelief
Unbelief is when you allow that doubt to take over your mind. Christians can live in a mindset full of unbelief but still believe in God. It is a very warped and dangerous mindset but it is possible. Sadly it is seen more so in the church than anywhere else. Mindsets that say, ‘God wants me to be like this because then I can help people.’ or ‘I’m sick because God…..’ can be found all over in today’s churches and it is sickening. Why would we be commanded to cast out sickness and disease if God placed it on you? Every gift from God is GOOD and PERFECT, why would He contradict Himself?
John 10:10 NKJV The thief does not come except to steal and to kill, and to destroy, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have more abundantly.
Most believers have strongholds in their minds that Satan has placed there to steal, kill, and destroy. If Satan has a place in your mind he can steal your life, kill your ministry, and destroy your testimony which is what he knows will overcome him in the last days. (Revelation 12:11) So many Christians are living with these strongholds in there mind without realizing it, and some have gotten so bad that the person believes they are stuck with whatever they have been plagued with.
Weekly you see people who are head of some sort of ministry go on stage, worship, preach, praying for people, etc., who look to have it all together at church but as soon as they get home you see them on social media posting and sharing things like, “My anxiety……”, “The worst part of having (Insert mental disorder here)…”, “I can’t do much today because my (Insert physical pain disorder here) is acting up.” It literally sickens me when people claim curses instead of believing for healing. I don’t care if your doctor says you have had whatever it is since you were a child. Who are you going to believe a Doctor who has earthly wisdom and says you are sick or the God you claim to trust who says we are already healed?
Satan likes to give us crutches instead of healing.
I have struggled with severe depression since I was a child, which led to both social anxiety and random anxiety attacks. I have always used them as crutch. I would pray for God to miraculously heal me from these disorders but then go on claiming that the anxiety and depression were mine. I went on do this until I started attending Christ For The Nations. God revealed to me that He cannot make my ministry thrive like He wants to as long as I am saying that those disorders, those demons, were mine. I still struggle with thoughts of anxiety but when they come I replace them with scripture and what God says. I still struggle with depression but I tell Satan to leave my mind alone because he cannot have me or my ministry. At first crutches seem like they are helping you, but in the end they hinder you from doing so much and leave you sore.
“Your life will go in the direction of what you truly believe and what you believe is dictated by what you constantly confess.” -John Hollar
If you are constantly confessing that, that demon (disorder) is yours then I’m sorry to say this but you will not get better, you will not get healed, you will not receive everything God has for you, and your ministry will die. The only way to successfully change that mindset is to be consistently in the word, declaring life over your situation, and to STOP SAYING THAT THE DEMON (DISORDER) IS YOURS!
